Biological Evidence: A Verification Ladder

A body, tissue sample or DNA result appears more concrete than a light in the sky. That appearance can be misleading when the object has no secure origin, the sample can be contaminated, or a laboratory result is reported without methods and comparison data.

The verification ladder in this file is deliberately unforgiving: establish the specimen, preserve chain of custody, disclose sampling and laboratory methods, control contamination, compare against appropriate references, publish the result and obtain independent replication.

A failure at an early rung does not prove fraud in every case. It prevents the strongest conclusion from being carried by evidence that cannot support it.

Whole-genome sequencing identified the Atacama specimen as human, female and likely of Chilean descent. The paper reported variants associated with skeletal phenotypes.

A later peer-reviewed response disputed aspects of the pathology interpretation and criticised the ethics of studying the remains, describing the individual as a human preterm baby or fetus.

The disagreement is scientifically important, but it is not a human-versus-extraterrestrial dispute. Both records keep the specimen within human biology.

Peruvian authorities reported that specialists examined specifically seized figures associated with the Palpa-Nasca area and found construction using animal bones and synthetic adhesives. A separately submitted tridactyl hand was also described as fabricated.

That finding is strong for those examined pieces. It is not a licence to declare every object marketed as a Nazca body identical, nor does it authenticate objects that were outside the examination.

The exact boundary is non-negotiable: the conclusion applies only to the seized pieces and hand described in the official statement.

The Peru Public Ministry's enforcement record shows that extraction, handling and trade in promoted remains also raise cultural-heritage concerns.

Scientifically, an undocumented excavation or private transfer makes contamination, substitution and context loss harder to exclude. Legally and ethically, destructive sampling can damage human remains or protected heritage before identity is known.

A credible investigation must therefore record find location, lawful custody, every transfer, sampling authority and retained controls. Provenance is not paperwork added after the result; it is part of the result.

A sequence labelled unknown can reflect degraded material, contamination, a short read, a reference-database gap, a pipeline choice or an organism not represented in the comparison set.

An extraterrestrial conclusion would require disclosed raw data, validated extraction controls, appropriate references, independent laboratories and replication from separately sampled material under secure custody.

Without that chain, unknown means unresolved within the stated method. It does not mean non-human and it does not mean extraterrestrial.

The 2023 House hearing records what witnesses said under oath, including allegations about recovered biologics and the distinction between firsthand knowledge and information relayed by others.

That record matters for oversight. It is not a public specimen, a laboratory notebook, a custody log or an independently replicated analysis.

NASA and AARO likewise report no conclusive or empirical extraterrestrial evidence in the scientific literature and government investigations they reviewed. Those findings are bounded to the reviewed material; they do not prove that life exists nowhere else.

The verdict would change with lawful and documented provenance, continuous custody, independent sampling, contamination controls, open methods, raw sequence or imaging data, appropriate reference comparisons and replication by unaffiliated laboratories.

Extraordinary morphology alone is insufficient. So is a single percentage of unmatched DNA, a press conference, an anonymous laboratory summary or testimony without a specimen.

Until a public case survives that ladder, alleged non-human biological evidence remains unverified even when the witnesses, objects or institutional questions deserve further investigation.
